I'm busy working away on my Eros Affair fic, so I thought I'd post some of the drabbles I did lately. They all combine prompts from [livejournal.com profile] hd100 and [livejournal.com profile] dracoharry100. All three below fics are rated PG-13.

Disclaimer: The characters contained herein are not mine. They belong to JK Rowling and her publishers. No money is being made from this fiction, which is presented for entertainment purposes only.

Title:
Reflections
Challenges: [livejournal.com profile] hd100's prompt of "peace" and [livejournal.com profile] dracoharry100's prompt of "mirror."
Summary: Harry enjoys the view.

Climbing out of bed, Harry crossed the room and looked in the mirror.

He smiled at the reflection of Draco curled up under the covers, the picture of peace.

As he thought about the past five years, gazing at the reflection of the man he had grown to love, his heart welled up in his chest.

It had been an uphill climb, withstanding the media scrutiny, their friends' objections, and their own doubts, but they had made it.

Harry watched as Draco's eyes fluttered open, and whispered, "Love you."

"Love you too," Draco said, smiling. "Now come back to bed."

Title:
Waking From War (x 8 drabbles)
Challenges: [livejournal.com profile] hd100's prompt of "darkness" and [livejournal.com profile] dracoharry100's prompt of "money."
Warnings: DH spoilers, though I took liberty with the ending.
Summary: Draco wakes up in total darkness, memory fuzzy, greeted by one of the last people in the world he wanted to be with.

Fear grips him as he opens his eyes to complete darkness. The surroundings are unfamiliar to him and he strains to recall where he is and how he got there. But despite his efforts, he cannot recall anything past blinding light, creatures made out of fire chasing them.

Fiendfyre! The memories are hazy as they flow back. He knows there was more, and yet … nothing past that.

"Lumos," he hears in a familiar voice as magical light illuminates the room.

"Potter," he says to the shadow in the distance.

"Oh, good," Potter replies. "You're awake. We need to talk."

Draco's eyes darted around the room, looking for escape. To his dismay, the only door was right behind Potter.

"Relax, Malfoy." Potter looked amused. "If I'd wanted you dead, I'd hardly have pulled you out of that mess Crabbe created."

Draco was confused and more than a little afraid. He didn't recognize his surroundings, he was wandless, and a formidable Potter - whom he'd tried to capture and hand over to the Dark Lord, if memory served - had him at his mercy.

"If this is about money, Potter, I have --"

Potter's laughter cut him short. Draco's heart sank.

"Don't be daft, Malfoy. I have more money than I need."

Oh, God. What will he do to me? His fear must have shown on his face, as Potter's expression changed from amusement to something indistinguishable. If he hadn't known better, Draco might have though it was concern.

Potter approached him and Draco flinched. A darkness fell over the other boy's face.

"Malfoy, I'm not Voldemort. I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to talk." At Draco's disbelieving expression, Potter reached his hand out to give Draco's shoulder a squeeze. "But I can see now isn't the time."

"The Dark Lord --"

"Is dead. Gone. Never coming back."

Had the darkness lifted? Relief washed over Draco, soon replaced by a jolt of uncertainty, of fear. "My parents?"

"Are fine," Potter said, giving Draco's shoulder another squeeze and smiling at him. "Your mother saved my life."

"What?!" Draco suddenly felt as though he were in a dream - this couldn't be happening.

"Oh, she didn't do it for me. She did it for you. But now isn't the time to discuss things. You need rest. Go to sleep and we'll talk when you wake up."

"But --"

"Sleep, Draco."

When next he awoke, Draco was greeted not by darkness, but by the smell of food, and a concerned look from Potter.

"Did you call me Draco?" The question was the first clear thought he had, vaguely recalling the foreign sound of his given name from Potter's lips.

Potter smiled. "I guess I did. Sorry."

"It's alright," he began. "It's just that … well …" The words hung in the air. What was he supposed to say? It's weird that you're being nice to me when the last thing I remember is trying to hand you over to your death.

"Yeah, I know. I'd just like to separate you and your father in my mind. All that money, all that power, yet he still … never mind."

"But he's okay? And my mother too?"

Potter nodded, darkness falling over his features again.

"Can I see them?"

"Not yet." At Draco's confused look, he elaborated. "They're in custody, Draco." Again, the sound of his first name being uttered by Potter - Harry - was surreal. "The Ministry knows that Voldemort was staying at the Manor, and they have a lot of questions."

"I want to see them," Draco said, jumping up.

Harry pushed him back down.

"Your mother asked me to keep you here, keep you safe, while they were questioned. I promise I'll take you to see them soon."

"But --"

"Draco, not even your money will get you in any faster. You'll just have to trust me.

"Trust you?" Draco asked, wondering why, after everything that had happened, this didn't seem like such a difficult thing to do.

The darkness once again retreated from Harry's face. Again, his hand gave Draco's shoulder a friendly squeeze of reassurance. This time it was accompanied by a tingling sensation, the reverberation of magic. "Yes, Draco. Trust me."

"Okay, Harry. I trust you. I think. Well, I'll try anyway."

Harry grinned in response. "You must be starving. I had Kreacher bring us some food."

"Kreacher?"

"Long story. Right now we'll eat, later we'll see your parents, and then … well …"

Harry's words faded. Without impending doom and the ever-looming darkness that Voldemort represented, who knew what the future would hold for them, for all of wizard kind. Whatever the future had to bring, Draco was pleased to know that, despite his mistakes of the past, at least one person seemed willing to help him face it head-on.

Title:
The Shock Factor
Challenges: [livejournal.com profile] hd100's prompt of "fall" and [livejournal.com profile] dracoharry100's prompt of "leave it."
Summary: Draco enlists the help of Hermione.

"Leave it alone, Ron!"

"But it's Malfoy! Why are you helping him?"

"He asked me to."

"Are you daft, Hermione? After everything that's happened, why would you trust him?"

"Well, it all makes sense, doesn't it?"

"No it doesn't! Malfoy didn't just fall in love with Harry overnight, and I can't understand why you believe his story!"

"That's just it, though, Ron. He didn't fall for Harry overnight. If you'd been watching, you'd have seen this coming for years."

"What?!"

"Oh, and Harry is in love with him too."

Hermione rolled her eyes as Ron hit the floor.

"Oh, honestly!"

I can't decide if I'm more impressed with your creativity or with your accuracy, 10 drabbles with 100 words must have took you ages, they are truly amazing.
I hope you're ego is enough stroke. ^_^

Thanks! Yes, the ego is stroked enough now.

Actually, when I first started writing fanfic (January), the one thing I needed to work on the most was brevity (I tend to be rather long-winded *cough* at times). Once I discovered these 100-word drabble challenges, I was hooked! And yes, it took quite a while to do it. But now it takes a lot less time.

Writing rarely produces the 100 words ... it's the editing (slash and burn ... pun very much intended) that really masters the 100 words.

And just for amusement, this reply is exactly 100 words too.

And just for amusement, this reply is exactly 100 words too. - according to my word processor anyway. I can't be arsed to count the words myself any more. So it might include an ellipse as a word - who knows?

Anyway, thanks again for reading & for your lovely comments. :)

Hahaha...I won't count either, let's keep the mystery! Meaning that I'm as lazy as you. hehehe...
And practice makes perfect, so you'll have to write many, many fics to be the "Truly Master of the 100-Words Drabbles". ^_^ And don't worry about changes in canon, we're all slashers in here so your fic is as canon as it can get.

P.S.:Sorry about any grammar mistake in my posts. Is that I'm still learning, plus I have a keyboard that work like a typewriter, I have to press hard every key (which, for the amount of words I have to come back to fix, I don't)otherwise it doesn't type. So be patient with me.

Sorry about any grammar mistake in my posts. Meh. I am not currently wearing my beta hat, so worry not. When I am, look out! I'm rather relentless then. ;)

And don't worry about changes in canon, we're all slashers in here so your fic is as canon as it can get. Heh. Point. However, some people are sticklers about canon, so I like to point out, especially if I say "DH spoilers" that it's not necessarily compliant with the text I'm supposedly spoiling.

that was really great! you were really great with those drabbles. i loved each and every one of them. the last one definitely made me laugh. :) ron & hermione are always too funny.

but these were awesome and extremely entertaining. you have a way for saying so much with so few words, it's amazing. :)

*preens* - thanks!

you have a way for saying so much with so few words, it's amazing. - I totally have the fandom to thank for that. I have forced myself to "chop, chop, chop" to meet the 100 word requirement, and that exercise has been invaluable for me when editing my non-fanfic novel.

*\o/* Go fandom!

"Reflections" was lovely.

I loved the progression in each "Waking from War" drabble from fear to trust (and hope).

And "The Shock Factor"? Hermione is just priceless!
