Summary:    Harry & Draco spend Christmas with the Weasleys

Harry and Draco arrived at the Burrow for Christmas.  Draco was nervous.  This was as close to spending Christmas with Harry’s parents as he would ever get, and the Weasleys and Malfoys didn’t exactly get along.  He wanted to make a good impression, but had no idea how, given their past.  But he and Harry were engaged now, so it was expected.

He handed Mrs. Weasley the white roses he had bought her, and her face lit up in a genuine smile.  After that, Draco began to relax.  Sure, the twins tormented him, but when he looked around he realized it was in the same way they tormented everyone else.  He and Ron had come to an understanding a while ago, so they tolerated each other well enough.

As he and Harry were leaving, Draco went to shake Mrs. Weasley’s hand, but she pushed it away, taking him aback.  Draco didn't know what to think.  What had he done?  But then she took him into an embrace that nearly drove all the wind out of his lungs.

“Welcome to the family, Draco.”
