The next day, Hermione took them on a tour to see Hadrian's Wall, the wall built to keep the Scots out of England, by order of the Roman Emperor Hadrian back in AD122. Ron looked bored, but Arthur was positively bubbling over with glee, truly astounded that Muggles could build and defend a structure of that magnitude.

"Seven years to build a wall to separate Scotland from England! And all without magic," he announced. "Incredible!"

"What's so incredible about it?" Ron asked, clearly bored of the trip as the bus let them off at Birdoswald, the site of an old Roman fort. "It's only a few feet wide and only a bit taller than that."

"Oh, Ronald!" Hermione chastised him. "It was much larger than this at the time, but the locals pulled down much of it since, and used the stones to build the houses around here."

"Oh," he shrugged and rolled his eyes at Harry, as if to say, who cares? Harry just smiled at him, but he actually did find the history of the area interesting. He had studied a bit about the Roman Empire in school before he had attended Hogwarts, and it was a time he found fascinating.

"Hermione, d'you think this looks like a massive grave site?" Ron asked, feigning interest.

"No, Ronald," she said with frustration. "That is just the layout of the walls, which are no longer standing.

"Oh," he said again, his cheeks going pink this time, as Hermione pointed out the sign that explained what it was.

Harry walked along on his own, reading all the postings about the site, and flipped through the computer display screens inside. He was amused to read that the Romans told a story about Remus and his twin brother Romulus who had been cared for by a wolf. He would have to tell Remus that when he saw him next, and ask if his parents had known about the story when naming him, and if one of them might have been a Seer.

By the time their bus returned to pick them up, Harry's mind was back on Draco. He recalled many conversations they had had about the history of wizards. Harry couldn't help wishing that Draco was there with him, so he could share some Muggle history with him.

Harry tried to focus on other things all the way back, but was unable to get thoughts of the blonde out of his mind.
