“Wait a minute, Potter. What did you say that was?”
“I said that was my bedroom from the time I came to live with my aunt and uncle until I went home after my first year at Hogwarts. After that, they were too scared that Dumbledore was watching them, so they moved me upstairs to Dudley’s second bedroom.”
“But … but … that’s a cupboard! And it’s not even a full cupboard, because it’s under the bloody stairs!”
“Really? I hadn’t noticed.”
“Well, at least my aunt did something constructive in her own, twisted way.”
“What?!?”
“Well, this is how I see things. If dear Auntie Bella hadn’t offed them when she did -- Oh, really, Harry, how can you mourn their loss after everything they did to you? -- Anyway, if she hadn’t offed them, I would have been left with the job.”
“Draco, what are you on about?”
“You don’t seriously think I would have allowed them to live after how they treated my - well, you know what I mean.”
“How they treated your what, Draco?”
“Well …er … oh alright … how they treated the love of my life. There. I said it. I won’t say it again. They’re just lucky Auntie Bella got to them first, that’s all I can say ... ”
“I love you too Draco.”

Date: 2007-01-28 03:25 am (UTC)This makes me wonder, though - does anyone know of any fics where Harry and/or Draco gets seriously scary on the Dursleys? Maybe I'm a terrible person, but every time I see Harry just breeze out of there satisfied with not ever going back, or the two of them take the Dursleys' attitude with nothing but a few sarcastic comments, I have an incredible urge for a Pulp-Fiction-esque, dramatic terror-and-death aweing of the Dursleys. It just seems so unrealistic.

Date: 2007-01-28 04:34 am (UTC)There was one story I read where homophobic Dudley & his cronies beat Draco to a pulp, and in the end the retribution was actually turning Dudley into a female. Truth be told, I wanted a lot more pain to be dished out. I also believe there's at least one dark!Harry fic (can't recall the name, as I don't tend to like too dark a Harry ... you know, getting taken over by his inner evil - or Voldemort's) where he does something to them.
Oooohhh ... I remember one in which Harry & Draco went back to Privet Drive, and they did something to his aunt & uncle, but left Dudley alone, because during his final summer there, his aunt & uncle were starving him, and Dudley snuck him food. That was a good one, but I can't recall the name of it either. I think when they left, both Dursleys were locked in the cupboard under the stairs.
How about this ... if you give me a line from Pulp Fiction, I'll write one for you. I could even use the line I just did in the previous fic, if you want. In fact, the plot bunnies are already fighting for position in my head ... dammit! They are annoying when they get this worked up!
