"Draco, wait. Stop." Harry wriggled out of the blonde's embrace. What was he doing?

It had been eight months. Eight months since Snape had shown up at Grimmauld Place, Draco Malfoy in tow. As much as Harry had hated Snape, he already knew that he had only been doing Dumbledore's bidding when he killed the already dying man. Dumbledore's pensieve and some letters from the headmaster himself had seen to that. Harry would never like the man, but he did respect the difficult choices Snape had had to make over the years.

Malfoy had acted under duress, Harry knew from the conversation on the tower. He feared for the life of his mother, and if Harry was honest with himself, he couldn't say that he wouldn't have tried to do the same thing. He liked to think he wouldn't, but then he had never been placed in that situation.

So when Snape showed up with Malfoy, to everyone's shock, Harry welcomed them. Snape left right away to maintain his cover as a spy, but Malfoy remained.

Everyone, especially Ron, was stunned at how easily Harry had left the past behind him and accepted their Slytherin guest.

In fact, he had been a great help in the Horcrux search. Hermione and Ron -- especially Ron -- didn't trust Draco enough to go on the recovery treks with them, but they didn't hesitate to use the information he found in his research.

It was, in part, thanks to Draco that Harry found himself here, knowing that Voldemort was now a mere mortal. One that could be killed. One whose days were numbered.

And then this! Draco had -- out of the blue in Harry's opinion -- just kissed him! Of course, war or no war, of age or not, Harry was a young, hormonal male who just happened to be gay. As was Draco. Resistance was futile.

And what Draco was doing with that tongue - guh! If Harry were straight, he didn't think he could resist that!

Pulling Draco into a deeper kiss, and pressing his body up against the blonde's, Harry felt that this was what had been missing from his life.

Suddenly reality swooped down on Harry. What was he doing? He had broken things off with Ginny to protect her, and now Draco came along, and Harry fell right into the kiss as though they had been doing this forever. He couldn't do that to Draco.

"Draco, wait. Stop." Harry wriggled out of the blonde's embrace.

Exasperated, Draco looked up at him. "What's wrong Potter? You can't tell me you don't want this too." Pulling Harry's body up against his own, Draco pressed their erections together to prove his point.

"The last thing I need is you to be used as a target," Harry said seriously. "Voldemort used Sirius that way, and your mother. If he knew --"

Draco laughed out loud at this. "Oh, do get over yourself, Potter! I am a target already. Remember me? The defector from the Dark Lord's ranks? The teller of all secrets Malfoy? What difference would it make if I were with you?"

"Good point," Harry said as he dragged Draco off to his room, where he planted a kiss on him. "Come to think of it, the last thing I need is you getting away."
