Between Friends
"What do you make of those two?" Al asked.
Scorp shrugged. "I dunno, but it looks like another one bites the dust."
"Yeah. Shame too."
"Don't tell me you're interested in her," Scorp questioned.
"Not her," Al replied.
"Oh."
~*~*~
Scorpius tackled Al to the ground and let out a triumphant yell as he pinned his friend to the ground. "Just give me what I want and no one gets hurt," he said, sounding like some bad guy from a Muggle movie.
"And what might that be?" Al asked.
"You claim to know me so well," Scorp said. "You figure it out."
Al grabbed his friend's shirt and pulled him down for a kiss.
~*~*~
"Are you ever going to talk to me again?" Al asked. Scorpius had taken off after the kiss without a word, had skipped supper, and Al had only just found him after resorting to the use of his dad's map.
"Hmm?"
Al walked over to where his friend was brooding and slid down the wall to sit beside him.
"I want to make sure that kiss I gave you earlier doesn't mean the end of our friendship," he said.
Scorp wore a pained expression. "I can't promise that," he replied.
"What?!" Scorp's words hit Al like a slap in the face. "After everything we've been through? It was just a kiss, Scorp. I promise I'll never do it again."
"Don't, Al. Just … don't."
"What? Why not?"
And Scorp kissed him.
"Oh. Well okay then."

Date: 2009-02-23 04:10 am (UTC)Aaanyway ... yes, I've often wondered how difficult it must be to suffer that type of ridicule or hatred on an ongoing basis, and then be faced with the fear of your parents rejecting you too. As if there isn't enough stress just being a teen and trying to figure out who you are and how you fit into the world.
