April Showers

"When will the weather improve?" Draco whinged. "This constant rain is depressing."

"Well, you know what they say about April showers," Harry replied cheerfully.

"No, Potter, I don't."

"You know, April showers bring May flowers."

"What rubbish! And who are they anyway? Muggles?"

Harry frowned. "I don't know who they are, but it's an expression. Flowers need rain to grow, so --"

"Well, I don't much care. We've always had spectacular flowers in the gardens at Malfoy Manor, whether or not there was a lot of rain in April. And I don't recall seeing an absence of them at Hogwarts or anywhere else for that matter."

"I would guess that the house-elves would have taken care of the watering at the Manor and Hogwarts if the weather didn't manage it. And you live in the wizarding world. Magic would take care of them everywhere else."

"Aha! so it is a Muggle expression!" Draco announced triumphantly.

"I don't know whose expression it is," Harry said, rolling his eyes, "but I can think of something we can do today that's shower-related."

"And what would I want to do in the rain?" Draco asked petulantly.

"Oh, the shower I had in mind has nothing to do with rain," Harry said with a leer.

Draco smiled. "And what might these showers bring?"

Harry pondered that for a moment before replying, "If you come with me, we can see what grows."

Draco smirked. "I think you've got that backwards, Harry. First we'll see what grows; then I'll come with you."
