Whisked Away

"I can't believe he forgot, Hermione!" Harry whinged.

"Oh, Harry, I'm sorry."

"It's our fifth anniversary. How could he?"

"Perhaps he didn't," she suggested, sounding entirely unconvinced. "Maybe he's planning something for later, and he wants it to be a surprise."

"No," Harry moaned, "he hates surprises."

Harry entered their flat disappointed and more than a little irritated. He'd always been the first to say Happy Anniversary each year, but this time he wanted Draco to acknowledge it first. And he'd been sorely disappointed.

"Harry," Draco greeted him, leaning in to capture Harry's lips. "How was your day?"

Harry didn't have a chance to answer before Draco wrapped his arm around his waist, and Harry felt the pull of Apparition, and he was whisked away. When he felt his feet connect with the ground, he discovered they were on a beach with a candlelit dinner set for two.

"Happy Anniversary, Harry." Draco smiled. "Surprised?"

Harry was shocked, to put it mildly. "But … but you hate surprises!"

"But you love them, so here we are."

As he watched Harry's eyes twinkle, Draco knew that whatever Hermione expected in return for her Floo call earlier, it would be worth it.
