Summary: Harry tries to entice Draco to skip his birthday party, but Draco has a better idea.

Forget the Party

"Hmm ... yum," Draco hummed as he tasted his birthday cake. "You really outdid yourself, Potter."

"Don't sound so surprised. I am capable of cooking, you know."

"Cooking, yes, but baking?" Draco moaned over another forkful of the cake. "You generally do well, but this? This is delicious."

"Thanks."

"Give it up. Molly made this, didn't she?"

"I am shocked and appalled that you think I would pass off her baking for my own!" Harry said indignantly.

"Is that a yes?"

"No, it's not. I baked it myself." Harry mumbled something under his breath.

"What was that?"

"I said it was her recipe I used. But I did bake it," he hastened to add.

"I don't want to sound ungrateful," Draco said through another mouthful of cake. "But it's just that this is so incredibly good."

"Thank you. I think."

As Draco put the last bit into his mouth, he groaned. "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!"

Harry smiled. "I'm glad you enjoyed it."

Draco looked down at Harry's piece, only one bite out of it. "Why are you not eating yours?"

"Oh, I plan to. But I'm saving it."

"Whatever for?"

Harry shot him a predatory look, letting his eyes wander over Draco's body. "I'd rather eat mine off a more delectable surface than this plate, thanks."

"Oh, really?"

"Mmm ... I say forget the party; let's stay home tonight."

"Oh, no, Potter. It's my birthday, and I will have a party," Draco insisted. "Arriving fashionably late, however, would be perfectly acceptable."

He flashed a winning smile at his boyfriend. "This way, I get to have my cake, and have you eat it too."
