Summary: Families gather in the Great Hall after the final battle.

As the dust settles around them, everyone makes their way into the Great Hall. Families huddle together, thankful to be alive. Others cling to one another in grief, knowing that there are some that will never return.

Amazingly enough, Draco made it through, as did both of his parents. He doesn't know what will become of their family now, what the future holds for them. Surely Lucius will return to Azkaban. But they are alive.

As Draco looks up, his eyes meet Harry's across the room. Harry smiles and nods in his direction.

Where there is peace, there is hope.

I had hoped that there would be a moment like this in DH, and not just a perfunctory nod between Draco and Harry in the epilogue 19 years later. I wish JKR had written a little bit more closure for those two. After all, she spent much of the seven books talking about their rivalry.
