To-Do List @ Feb 21

Well, I'm pleased to see my to-do list decrease a bit since last week, although it would be nice to see a few more things checked off. I had to drive the older son to school twice, as he missed the bus, I went on a class trip with my younger son, and I got together for lunch a couple times since I last posted an update, so I had to spend less time on H/D goodness than I would have liked. Ah, well ... weekend = no kids = catch up time. *\o/*


Regular Challenges:

February: hds_beltane (part 2 of '07 entry) - 2/3 3/4 complete and typed.

March:

slashfest #1 (1st) - storyline complete; 1/3 draft typed.
slashfest #2 (7th) - first draft over 1/2 complete; didn't fit; re-started from scratch. *sighs*
hd_worldcup (7th to team) - Storyline & theme worked out; some scenes developed. Some writing completed.

Yay for colour!

Alas, I fear that the lists just keep getting added to, almost as quickly as I cross things off. But every two weeks, when I don't have my boys, I play 'catch-up' => that's the plan for this weekend. :D

No more fests! That's it! NOOOOO MORE!

You're awesome... I am really looking forward to reading to the fest stories. I really wanted to sign up for the worldcup and ass_fest, but I don't think I can handle anything with a deadline for the moment. So I will be a good spectator then :)

First, I'm insane. Second, I don't sleep. Third, I write ALL the time. Seriously, whenever I wait (doctor's office, restaurant, picking up my kids, on vacation) I either pull out my laptop or journal. Not because I feel pressured, but because I hate wasting time (I put makeup on at red lights in my car, because it's otherwise time wasted) and I love writing.

Worldcup is accepting drabbles from watchers, so you can submit something and participate in a non-competitive way. Which, of course, you know because you asked about the drabbles, right? I'll be looking for your entry. ;)

I don't sleep much either.... and I suspect that contributes to my insanity. Not that I was really all that sane before that :).

I wish I can write all the time... most of my "creations" are made in the tiny time gaps during my hours in the lab (which is basically where I live these days...)

And being an incredibly slow writer - I can spend hours to deal with several hundred words - even if I have free time I still don't think I can handle the list! :)

Yeah I ask about the drabbles and the ewe (it really didn't hit me at all that ewe is a female sheep! *heads desk*), I have an idea for the drabble... not an easy one to execute though and will likely throw off many readers, but I will see what I can do.

Sleep/insanity/sleep ... it's all cyclical.

I used to fit all my writing into my lunch breaks and into the wee hours of the morning, but now that I don't commute to an office job, I write all day. You'd think I'd get sick of it, but ... I'm still up until the wee hours of the morning writing. Ah, well ... I love it, so that's good.

And I'm a fast writer. I have for years asked for a prompt and twenty minutes, and voila - I shall produce poetry! Any subject, any mood. And apparently it doesn't totally blow. Alas, both my slashfest and hd_worldcup fics have sucked away a lot of time in research. The writing will be fine once I get going, but deciding exactly what to do and how to do it has done me in lately.

So ... I'm off to write Draco ficcage. Later!

Oh, and I love your writing. I can't wait ... throw us all off if you will. Makes for interesting reading. :D
