Draco entered the Auror training facility, to come face-to-face with none other than Golden Boy. Well, it's not like he hadn't expected it. After all, of course Potter would become an Auror. He hoped that they could work together, if not in harmony, then at least without hostility.
He hadn't seen Potter since he'd returned Draco's wand about a week after the final battle. That had been awkward. They had thanked each other for alternately saving each other's lives, stood in silence, then Potter had thrust the wand into Draco's hand. 'Here, then' was all he'd said before Apparating away.

"Potter."
"Malfoy."
Well, so far so good.
"Today you will be paired up with another trainee. This person will be your partner for the next three years of training. He or she will be the first person you go to if you have questions. The two of you will be expected to work through problems, issues, questions and hands-on situations. Only if you cannot work out a solution on your own do you approach one of your instructors."
Harmony would not be describing the next three years. Draco knew this even before he heard, predictably, "Malfoy, your partner is Potter."
