Author's Notes 1: I signed up for a
10_themes table on Ron Weasley, in honour of my good friend
melmoe1, who adores the Weasleys, especially Ron. I then asked if she would do up some cover art for the magazine theme I had of Wizard of the Month. She readily agreed (which, truth be told, I knew she would for Ron), and her love for this ginger wizard shines through in her art. Please take a few minutes to visit her LJ and leave some well-deserved comments for this outstanding cover.
Oh, and we're doing a different wizard each month ... February showcases Draco Malfoy.
Author's Notes 2: After completing the first article, I enlisted the assistance of my lovely friend
winter_june to do some excellent background graphics, to really give it the feel of a magazine article. Many, many thanks to June, since now she's stuck doing ten for each wizard we showcase this year. *hugs*

Date: 2008-01-13 06:03 pm (UTC)The art ... guh! I don't swoon over Ron, but this pic? Especially the eyes! *swoons* Mel outdid herself, for sure.
The side boxes ... I know! Mel is quite amusing, you know. I had no input whatsoever on those.
And the article ...
I'm really pleased with how it all turned out. Who knew collaboration could be this fun? ♥

Yeah ... I giggled at the H/D plug too when I got it from Mel. :D
Nine more articles to go for Ron, then I'll start on Draco (February). You should see the art for that! *swoons*

Date: 2008-01-13 09:52 pm (UTC)Yeah ... she did one which was awesome. Now she's gone back and done another one instead. I don't know which I prefer yet ... just that both are drool-worthy. ♥ ♥

Date: 2008-01-13 11:36 pm (UTC)Naturally I am going to implore you to incorporate some Viktor/Ron in this (remember that keep him away from Harry ::grins::). Plus I would love to see Mel do some luscious Viktor/Ron artwork. I would love you both immensely for it and I'm not above bribing with the promise of hand-knits to get it. O:-)

Date: 2008-01-16 04:59 pm (UTC)Hahah, that article was priceless, I thought the journalist sounded a tad like a fangirl though. ;D
(I squealed a bit when I saw the part "Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy take Witch Weekly on a tour of their home" - yes, I know it's a magazine made by you, but it's still official news!! *is excited*)
no subject
Date: 2008-01-16 05:55 pm (UTC)Just a bit, hmm? *g* The other articles, once she calms her heart down a bit from unexpectedly seeing him so scantily-clad, will be less fangirlish.
Official news, indeed! That little headline was Mel's baby. She did an awesome job on the cover art, and the ones for Draco and Harry are also very drool-worthy. Mmmm.

Date: 2008-01-17 10:24 pm (UTC)Yeah ... I came up with the Wizard of the Month concept & suggested Witch Weekly as the mag, but everything else is Mel's doing. I write the articles, and she does the covers.
Speaking of teasing ... I just posted this flyer (http://sesheta-66.livejournal.com/161265.html), showing all the wizards for the year, with a bit of a blurb about each. Since every one of these requires a hard pasting onto a PhotoShop background,
