"How did I let you convince me to do this?" Draco asked, as he prepared for their trip. "I don't want to have a tropical Christmas. Look at my skin! I'll burn to a crisp in the Australian sunshine."
Harry grinned. "Draco, we are going to spend three days with Hermione and her parents. We can stay indoors the whole time, if you wish. We'll be back on Christmas Eve, so we'll only have a tropical lead-up to Christmas, and we'll be home where it's good and cold for the actual day."
"You're avoiding my question, Harry. How was I hoodwinked into doing this again? It's our first Christmas together, and we're travelling all over the place."
"I recall sexual favours being involved, but the specifics are somewhat blurry right now."
"Ah, yes. Three days of you at my disposal; one for each day we're there." He grinned widely. "I hope you know that you will make this worth my while."
Harry wrapped his arms around his lover and growled in his ear, "Don't I always?"
"Mmm. You haven't disappointed me yet."
"Speaking of sexual favours," Harry added, "how long are we staying at the Manor?"

Date: 2007-12-15 04:49 pm (UTC)I'm quite offended by Draco, Australian sunshine is lovely. Just because his pale inbred pureblood skin can't handle it... :P
*cuddles you*

Date: 2007-12-16 11:17 pm (UTC)I always have sunblock on hand. Um ... I don't do hats. No, seriously, they look hideous on me. Parasols? O.o
Canopies with scantily-clad man-servants sound good. *nods*

Date: 2007-12-16 04:41 pm (UTC)(Though I agree about the sunblock. Lots and lots of sunblock. *nods firmly*)

Date: 2007-12-16 04:39 pm (UTC)Yes, we're taught to "slip slop slap" (which sounds quite kinky, now that I think of it ;D), but parasols? 0.o
...
Ahahaha, are you one of those funny people who actually use umbrellas in the sun. *tries not to giggle*

Date: 2007-12-16 05:19 pm (UTC)Which is a relief -- for a few years there it was just, me, the Greek Nonnas and the Chinese ladies.
[;-P Pulls the face of you may mock me, my friend, but I will continue to look young while everyone around me ages! And I should still be fit enough to run when they decide to burn me for a witch, plus I can beat them with my parasol.]

Date: 2007-12-16 08:22 pm (UTC)Mmm, having a weapon to beat at others is quite cunning indeed. I am impressed, and now wonder as to the real reason why Chinese ladies and Greek Nonnas carry parasols around. ;D

Date: 2007-12-17 03:41 am (UTC)"Slip slop slap" is the slogan all Australians are taught to abide by if they don't want to get sunburnt, die from melamona/sun cancer/other sun-related diseases or look silly by carrying an umbrella around. :)
Slip refers to slipping on sunglasses, to prevent your eyes from having long-term damage by the sun's rays.
Slop means to apply sunscreen on (that is, to slop it on)... a lot of it too, because our sun is intense. :/
And Slap is slapping on a hat to protect your head.
There, you're not the only one teaching people. *g* And, err, I'll have a look for the Rudolph specials come Christmas. :D
(Now that I've thought about it some more, I don't think it's a very appropriate children's story at all. You know, Santa never told off the other reindeers for teasing Rudolph - to me, the message seems to be that if you're useful, people will love you despite your oddities. Okay, I'll stop reading too much into it now. 0_o)
Hee! *snuggles your cold Canadian self*

Date: 2007-12-17 05:43 am (UTC)I think by having Rudolf guide his sleigh, and giving him that place of honour, Santa was sending that message to the other reindeer. Seriously, though ... you've gotta watch the show.
