sesheta_66
Giftee:
lackofmendacity
Prompt(s): No prompt given, but I wanted to give her a gift fic anyway, because she was one of the first people on LJ to ever support and encourage me in my writing, and she's been there to nudge me, tease me, or provide support to me this year. So ... I just went with it! Warning for crackish tendencies and cheesy poetry.
Title: An Unexpected Gift
Rating: PG
Word Count: 380 (um ... this one got away from me)
Pairings/Characters: Harry/Draco
Other prompts: GJ 100_prompts: 100 - How? and

This is a continuation of the "Crazy People" series (3 parts) which starts here, but can stand on its own.
"What are you looking so perplexed about, Harry?"
"What? Oh, it's nothing."
"If it were nothing, I would have said nothing. Clearly it's something, so fess up!"
"Well, you know how we've been reading ... well, how you've been reading that stuff on the
dracoharry100 community?"
"Right ... because you haven't read anything posted there." Draco gave him a bemused look.
"Whatever. Anyway, I noticed that a bunch of people are doing what they call 'gift fics' for Christmas, and ..."
"Gift fics? What on earth is a gift fic?"
Harry sighed. "One writer asks another writer for a prompt, and then the first writer uses that prompt to write a drabble or short story using that prompt. Then the first author gives it to the second author as a gift. A gift fic."
Draco raised an eyebrow. "And there's a point to this, I'm sure ... something that has you looking bothered." Draco's face suddenly fell. "No one is asking for a fic that has us doing ... well, you know ... something really crazy, are they?"
"No, no. Well, yes, but that's not my point. It's just that this one author asked this other author for a prompt, and she didn't give her one."
"And this concerns you why?"
"Well, the second author is one of the mods over at
dracoharry100 and this other author really seems to want to do a gift fic for her."
"Again, this concerns you how?"
"Well, I looked up her profile and ... well ..."
"Well what, Potter?"
He looked a bit hesitant. "It seems her aim in life is to earn enough money to get a Draco look-alike rent boy for herself."
"What?!"
"Well, she said that since the real you is with me ..."
"Do NOT tell me you are considering this?"
"No, no ... I just thought a rent-boy Draco might be a good prompt for ... you know ... the other author."
"Oh, for the love of Merlin ..." Draco continued mumbling something unintelligible as he exited the room, leaving Harry to send an anonymous little tip to a particular author.
There once was a rent-boy named Draco,
On assignment to a Muggle he did go,
All the way to Australia,
To meet with Diana,
Some whipped cream in hand for the show.
A/N: I tried to incorporate the comm, your love for whipped cream, your [curious] interest in my cheesy poems/limericks, and your aim in life. All wrapped up in a sort-of crackified bundle. Merry Christmas, honey!!!

Awwww... 'just for me'. What a lovely phrase. *feels special now*
Heheh, you still remember my fondness for whipped cream, and yay to you for managing to slip it in! ^_^
(Since we're reminiscing, you know it took me months to figure out how to spell your username? Every time I tried typing it out in a comment, I'd get it wrong, so I'd have to come to your journal and check the spelling. :/)
Thank you again!! *cuddles you like the kittens* :D

Date: 2007-12-09 08:56 pm (UTC)I know that gift fics are written for the recipient, but most of the time, they end up being for the enjoyment of others as well. This one may have everyone else rolling their eyes, but I don't care. 'Cause it's just for YOU, honey! Muah!
Hard to forget your fondness for whipped cream, when I have the same fondness. *nods* Remember ... there's no such thing as too much whipped cream. It's my mantra!
Awww ... but now you know!
*cuddles you back*
