Harry stormed out after the game, too frustrated at the opposing Seeker's skill and his own performance to commiserate with his team mates. Ron had followed, but Harry quickly dismissed him, telling him he wanted to be alone and to go join the rest of their team.

Half an hour later, Harry found himself walking a familiar path, one he had walked many times before, a path that led to a stream and a path where he often went to think. He was sitting on the river bank, breathing in the fresh scent of the water and the nearby trees when a rustling sound pulled him out of his reverie.

"I thought I'd find you up here," came the familiar sound of Ron's voice.

"I thought I told you to go out with the rest, that I wanted to be alone," Harry replied, not meaning to sound so sharp. He cringed. "Sorry."

"S'alright, mate. I just thought you looked like you could use some company, despite what you said." Placing his hand on Harry's shoulder and giving it a squeeze, he sat down beside him on the bank. "Want to talk about where your mind was today?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean it clearly wasn't on the game." Harry's body tensed at the accusation, and Ron squeezed his shoulder again. "Relax, Harry. I wasn't accusing you of anything. I just noticed that your mind seemed to be somewhere else, is all. And …well, if you want to talk about it, you know I'm here."

Harry relaxed. "Yeah, I know that, and thanks. It's just … well, I've been distracted lately."

"About what?"

"I don't know how exactly to say this …"

"Say what? You know you can tell me anything, right?"

"Yeah, but this is big … something that ... I don't know … well, I don’t know how the wizarding world views this." He closed his eyes, taking a deep, soothing breath, thankful for Ron's uncharacteristic silence. "I think …" He looked up at Ron and braced himself for his friend's reaction. "I think I'm gay."

Harry held his breath for what seemed like a lifetime before Ron reacted.

He smiled at Harry and once again placed his hand on his shoulder. This time, however, he pulled his friend closer to whisper in his ear. "I think you'll find that the wizarding world can be quite accommodating."

Harry looked wide-eyed at Ron, not sure what he meant. He found out soon enough, as Ron's hand move from his shoulder to weave through his hair and draw him in for a kiss.

For starters...your icon had me squeaking in laughter. Congratulations. That's rare.

Beyond that...OMFG I LOVE YOU! This was so adorable! I think this is one of my favorites that I've read from you. The last part:

Okay ... the icon credit goes to the lovely, talented, and funny [livejournal.com profile] melmoe1, who absolutely ADORES Ron Weasley.

Wow! Thanks. *ponders* One of the best lines I've written was for a pairing I don't usually do? Hmmm ...

I'm so glad you liked it enough to squee! :o)
