Summary: Draco feels compelled to enlighten Harry with some facts.

"What's that he's eating?" Draco asked.

Without so much as a glimpse in the direction of Draco's attention, Blaise retorted, "Probably baked beans on toast."

"Ew!" Draco replied. "You don't really think --"

"How the hell should I know?" Blaise barked. Looking across the room, he squinted. "Close enough. Looks like bangers and mash."

"How plebeian," Draco mumbled.

"For the love of Merlin, who cares what the man is eating?" Pansy interjected.

"I just --"

"Please, Draco, put us all out of our misery, and go talk to the man, yeah?"

"Would you look at that?" Draco continued, ignoring his friend's plea. "He just sits there eating while almost everyone is watching him. Honestly! They're so obvious too ... staring at him all starry-eyed."

"You mean like you?" Pansy pointed out quite unhelpfully. Blaise nearly choked on his drink as he snorted in response. Serves him right.

"I will have you know, Pansy, that am not staring." Her eyebrows lifted in challenge. "I am observing."

"Oh, right ... well pardon me for getting all confused. Here I was thinking that drool running down your face had something to do with you lusting after him the same way everyone else is."

Draco quickly brought his hand up to his mouth. Pansy nearly fell off her chair in a giggling fit. "Just go talk to him, Draco. It's not like he doesn't know you. And last I checked he didn't hate you ... well, not any more anyway. Besides, he's alone right now. No weasel and wench to get in your way. Really ... when will you get another opportunity to --"

To do what, Draco didn't hear, as he got up and made his way across the room. He could feel eyes watching him, shooting daggers into his back if he wasn't mistaken.

"Potter."

The Gryffindor glanced up. "Malfoy?"

Draco motioned to the bench next to Potter. Surprisingly he received a nod in reply. Perhaps Potter was in shock.

"What does it feel like to have the entire world at your feet?" Draco asked without preamble. He hadn't meant for the words to come out so harshly, but old habits and all that.

Predictably, Potter's eyes narrowed, though there was distinctly confusion in his gaze. "What are you on about now, Malfoy? Can't you just leave me to eat in peace?"

"You have no idea, do you?"

"Why you're such a wanker? No, I don't."

"Potter, do you not see every head turn, every set of eyes focus on you, everywhere you go?"

"It's this stupid scar. They've been doing it all my life," he explained in a defeated tone. "I stopped paying attention years ago. If I hadn't, I think I might have started screaming at people by now."

Draco chuckled at the picture of the Chosen One screaming at strangers, causing them to scurry away in tears.

"What?" Harry asked.

"Oh, Potter, you really have no clue, do you?"

"Thanks. Are you done insulting me? Can I get back to my meal now?"

"Not yet. There's something I think you should know."

Potter dropped his fork in frustration. He took off his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose as if preparing for a long, tedious diatribe. As he looked up, the deep green pools pulled Draco in, nearly taking his breath away.

Scooting closer on the bench to Potter, Draco looked deep into his eyes, waiting for him to focus. "Potter, people stare at you because ... well, let's just say it has nothing to do with your scar." Potters brows furrowed. Draco instinctively brought his hand up to smooth the skin. "They stare at you because you are something to look at. You are in incredible shape, you have broad shoulders, long, muscular legs, and an arse that turns heads.

"In a word, Potter, you are gorgeous. You have a shy demeanour which is somehow endearing. Your uncontrollable mop of hair gives you a just-shagged and very sexy look. Your lips - especially when you worry the bottom one with your teeth like you're doing right now - look so soft, so kissable. And your eyes, even behind those hideous glasses, pierce people down to their very souls when you look at them."

Potter, Draco was sure, was in shock. His face had turned a delicious shade of pink, and he was staring, wide-eyed and gaping at Draco, saying nothing.

Draco got up, leaned over, and pressed his lips softly to Potter's. "Just thought you should know." Smiling, Draco left him to ponder this while he beamed at all the disappointed faces that had been watching.
