I hadn't thought of the children as being the same ones, no. The oldest and youngest are boys & both are Slytherin. Their middle child is a girl & is in Gryffindor.
Yes, the little 'hints' we get in the books (the Ministry not being able to determine if the magic is conducted by underaged witches and wizards in magic homes, the parents that allow their children to use magic at the Quidditch World Cup, the suggestion that Draco knew magic before coming to Hogwarts, however true or untrue that was) suggested to me that many children of magic families would use spells before school ... so I thought I'd write about how Draco would want to teach his children, and would (of course) be sneaky about it.
