Summary: Working alongside Draco at Hogwarts, Harry discovers something he‘s never noticed before about Slytherins.

"Is Snape … is he … checking himself out in the mirror?" Harry asked with disgust.
Draco sniggered. "We Slytherins are very cognizant of our looks, you know."
"You're vain, in other words," Harry retorted.
Draco ignored the insult. "Well, unlike some people," he said, giving Harry a pointed stare then darting a glance up at his unkempt mop of hair, "we take care to look our very best at all times."
"Oh, you did not just imply that Snape takes better care of himself than I do! Have you seen that greasy mop?"
"Yes … well … you may have a point. The hair is ... unfortunate, but the rest of him … "
"Ew!" Harry gasped. "Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew!"
Draco sniggered again, gave Harry a peck on the cheek, and made his way to his classroom for his first lesson of the day.
That entire day, Harry took note that most Slytherins, wizards and witches alike, made a point of stopping to look at their reflections in mirrors and various other reflective surfaces as they passed them, some rather more obviously than others. How had he never noticed that before?
"You don't notice anything," Draco pointed out, entirely unhelpfully, later that evening when Harry voiced his musings aloud. "Face it, Harry, you spend most of your days wandering around with your head in the clouds." Harry simply glared, and Draco continued. "Not all Gryffindors are as unaware as you, but if you take the time to observe them, you'll notice a pattern."
Sure enough, over the next week he did just that. Slytherins, on the whole, paid attention to everyone and everything around them, eyes darting around fervently. Harry supposed that was to store away information to be used in the future.
Ravenclaws looked single-minded and focussed, as though in deep concentration about … well, whatever it is they'd be intense about - some book or another, Harry imagined.
The Hufflepuffs were jovial and carefree, focussing when someone was speaking directly to them, but otherwise just gazing about interestedly, taking things in, but in a less determined manner than the Slytherins.
Then there were the Gryffindors. They looked … well, there was no other word for it … they looked distracted. Like their minds were on something else entirely. All the time. Strange, that.
As the week went by, Harry noticed something else peculiar. It seemed that Draco was right. Harry groaned inwardly at the thought, knowing he would be admitting so later. Slytherins really did take more care with their appearance. Even the more formidable and frankly unattractive ones had their robes just so, their hair just so, and walked … just so. He supposed they couldn't help their bad breeding, which might have been a result of the pureblood mania many families in their house possessed. He shuddered as he recalled the Gaunts.
Suddenly faced with the realization that Draco was part of "that group", the ones who always took such care, Harry began to wonder why Draco was with him. It wasn't as if Harry ever really took care with his looks. Even when he did do something with his hair, it went its own way afterwards. He never needed to muss up his hair like his father used to; it was almost as if James Potter's constant ruffling of his hair had somehow filtered down like a spell cast on his son's hair to always be unruly.
Harry watched his boyfriend fussing over himself one morning, and realized that he quite appreciated all the effort Draco went to in order to look as sexy as he did. Because, let's face it, Draco Malfoy was one sexy Slytherin. Harry let out an involuntary moan at the thought.
Draco grinned at him in the mirror. "Like what you see, Potter?"
"Mm-hmm," Harry replied, moving closer to the mirror. "Very much so." Harry wrapped his arms around his lover from behind, and pressed his body against Draco's, nibbling the spot behind his ear that Harry knew drove the blonde wild, never once taking his eyes off Draco's in the mirror.
Draco leaned back to better enjoy Harry's ministrations. "Well, perfection doesn't come easily," he said as he turned his face around and pulled Harry in for a kiss. Their tongues met softly at first, but became more insistent, as hands began to wander, and bodies strived for more contact.
Reluctantly breaking the kiss, and pulling himself away, Harry asked, "So why do you do it?" Draco pouted at the disruption. "I mean, why would you do it for me?" he continued, ignoring Draco's scowl. "You know that you are gorgeous without all the extra work, but still you make the effort. And you're just that much more gorgeous when you primp."
"I don't primp," Draco huffed, giving Harry a half-hearted push and a glare.
"Okay, okay … you don't primp," he backtracked, rolling his eyes. "But you make the effort, and … well … I don't." Harry sighed and plunked himself down on the sofa, putting his head down in his hands and dragging his fingers through his unmanageable mane. Frustrated, he said, "What do you see in me anyway?"
Draco gave him an incredulous look. "You can't be serious, Harry!"
Harry, feeling completely uncomfortable all of a sudden in his messy clothes, with his messy hair, and his stupid glasses, just nodded, then buried his face in his hands again.
Draco approached him, and in one swift movement, pulled him up. Taking his arm, he guided Harry towards the mirror, and made him look at himself in the reflection. "Harry, not all of us can look as sexy as you without even trying."
Harry's heart leapt at those words, and the corners of his mouth twitched involuntarily. Draco licked a line up his neck, and nibbled on his earlobe, sending shivers down his spine and twinges of lust to his groin.
"Sexy, am I?" Harry growled, as he turned himself around, and pulled Draco's body firmly against his own, grasping his arse, and grinding their erections together.
"Definitely," Draco said, pushing Harry towards the bedroom.
"Besides," he added with a waggle of his brows and a lust-filled look. "What do I care what your clothes look like, when I'd much rather see what's underneath them?"

And tonight I'm going to be working on a bunch of random little ficlets/drabbles for the bbtp challenge on insanejournal, cause who doesn't love a day devoted to smut.
If you give me a quick prompt I'll attempt to do a mini 500-1000 word ficlet of pure Draco/Harry for it.
