Word warring for today can be found here.

Track the entry to see when new challenges are posted and feel free to join in or set your own.

First one starts in just over 10 minutes, at 10:30 Eastern Time, for 45 minutes.

Happy Writing!

Today's theme, inadvertently, is now "Descriptive Writing". I will admit that I struggle with this. I tend to be a plot-driven writer, with emphasis on character. Description does not come naturally to me and I bore easily reading long passages of it. I have a picture in my mind when I'm writing scenes, so I don't actually notice the absence of setting.

I've embarked on a new series of 'cozy mysteries' and today, after much outlining, plotting and character development, I've decided to begin the actual writing by creating settings, utilising all the senses (or at least six - see, hear, touch, taste, smell as well as emotions evoked) for each. Perhaps this approach will enable me to somewhat painlessly blend description into the rest of my writing. *fingers crossed*

Round 1: ~600 words of description in 45 minutes - success!
Round 2: ~615 words of description in 45 minutes - success!

Drop by here throughout the day, if you get a chance. I'd love to have others join in.
