"You have got to be kidding!"

"I most certainly am not kidding."

"Why now?"

"Because I finally came to my senses."

"What do you mean by that? You finally figured out that I'm not worth the trouble? That you're a better person? That I'm not --"

"No!"

"Then what?"

"Voldemort wants me. He is coming after me. He has been wanting me dead since I was a baby."

"So, again, I ask you why now?"

"He kills people to get to me."

"So what?"

"No, you don't understand. I believe that staying away from me is the key to your safety. He uses people that I -- that get close to me. He uses them to get to me, and now -- well -- now I suppose ..."

"What was that last bit? I didn't hear you."

"I said that I suppose you are the person who is closest to me now."

"Oh. And you --"

"And I couldn't stand it if something happened to you now, because of me."

Flangst is good, you know. I love this, and it's making me want to write some of my own for the challenge this week, but I'm oh so busy... *cries* I'm also late on my hpslashnotsmut fic, but the mods are way too kind to me.

What I was trying to say here is that I loved this and it was beautiful and I love caring!Harry and oblivious!Draco.
