Summary: Pansy Parkinson's pastries are pretty, not palatable.

"Come on in," Blaise said as he welcomed Draco and Harry into his flat. "Pansy's just in the kitchen finishing up with the dessert."
"It's not cake, is it?" Draco asked.
"I don't know. Some kind of pastry or other," Blaise replied.
"Oh, please, Blaise. Don't tell me you haven't told her yet!"
"Hell no."
Harry looked confused. "What haven't you told her yet?" he asked.
"Well," Draco explained, "Pansy's pastries are pretty ..."
"... but positively unpalatable," finished Blaise.
"So why don't you tell her you don't like her pastries?" Harry asked.
"Because he's whipped," Draco teased.
"I don't see you telling her either," Blaise pointed out.
"Ah, but I don't live with her. I am merely being polite. You, on the other hand, owe it to yourself, your guests, and Pansy to tell her the truth."
"No ... I don't think so," said Blaise tentatively, eyeing the kitchen and looking as though he would rather eat slugs than tell Pansy the truth.
"Oh, for heaven's sake, I'll tell her then!" Draco announced.
"You're going to tell her about her pastries?" Harry asked.
"Sshhh! She'll hear you!" Blaise warned.
"She'll hear what?" asked Pansy as she entered the room.
"Nothing!" both Draco and Blaise replied, looking both guilty and frightened. Pansy narrowed her eyes at both of them.
Harry rolled his eyes. "Honestly, you two are such cowards. I'll tell her."
"No!" they both shouted.
Pansy shot them daggers from her eyes, then turned to Harry with a sweet smile. "What did these two idiots not want me to hear?" she asked.
"Well ... you see ... it's about your pastries," Harry began.
"Yes?" Pansy asked, her voice sounding wary and a tad bit threatening. Harry saw both of the other men shaking their heads frantically behind Pansy, and Blaise was making a cutting motion with his finger across his neck. Harry grinned at them.
"Well, I'm sure they're lovely." He could see sweat building on Blaise's forehead, and Draco was getting paler as he spoke. "But these two have clued me in on a secret."
"Oh, have they?"
"Mm hmm." Harry could have sworn they were both holding their breath. "They said they're the best pastries they've ever eaten. Apparently, they thought the compliment might go to your head, and you'd hold them ransom if you thought they liked them so much. You know, Slytherin cunning and all that." Pansy beamed.
It was all Harry could do not to burst out laughing at the visible sign of relief on both Blaise and Draco's faces.
Pansy turned on them. "You know, maybe I will withhold these goodies in the future. Not because I'm Slytherin, but because you thought that you couldn't compliment me. I like to feel good about what I do just as much as the next person. And it would be a good lesson for the two of you if you never got to taste them again!" She left the room looking very pleased with herself.
Harry turned round to look at the two grown men who had moments ago been cowering, and he grinned. "Wimps!"

Since it was back-handed, and was offered by the only Gryffindor in the place, presumably at the expense/discomfort of the Slytherins, she was inclined to believe it, yes.
