Harry sat watching Draco read fairy tales to their two daughters, enjoying the lull just before the craziness of the season set it. Cecilia, their youngest, green ribbon tied in a bow atop her head, was excited about their Christmas dinner the following evening, and had been bouncing off the walls all day long. Draco had pulled out the one thing he knew would settle her. Cecilia loved fairies.
Alexa, on the other hand, having heard all the stories before, was getting restless. She hated the idea of hurting her Papa's feelings, so she sat feigning interest. Harry wasn't fooled.
"Well," Harry said, "I'm off to make the Christmas pudding for tomorrow's festivities." He gave a heavy sigh. "I had hoped to get some help with the cooking, but it looks like you three are quite busy yourselves. I suppose I'm on my own."
"I'll help, Daddy," Alexa offered. She and Draco had a special bond, as did Cecilia and Harry. It was nice to have some time alone with his eldest for a change, Harry thought.
Harry smiled as Alexa mixed the ingredients together in the bowl. Little moments like these, enjoying quite time with his family, were what made Harry so grateful, and made Christmas so special.

*grins* Seriously, I do. Since I don't have the boys with me, it's rather a blah time for me, so if I leave the wrapping until then, it helps.
Had a good night's sleep, thanks. And yeah ... I enjoyed all the reading I did, but those two just stood out, despite them being vastly different. One was a hurt/comfort fic that was heart-wrenching and heart-warming. The second was hilarious, with a wonderful plot. I couldn't NOT highlight them both.
