"... then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say ... Rudolf with your nose so bright, won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
A few minutes later, the carollers had finished their song, and Harry and Draco bade them good night. After Harry shut the door, Draco asked, "What on earth was that song about anyway?"
"Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer," Harry answered simply.
"Yes, funny enough, but I managed to figure out that much all on my own," Draco replied, rolling his eyes. "I just wondered what the meaning of it was."
"It's about accepting people that are different."
"I fail to see the connection."
"Well, Rudolf was different, because he had a red nose, when all the others had traditional, black noses. They shunned him, and wouldn't let him --"
"Play reindeer games," Draco finished for him.
"Right. But then one Christmas Eve, the weather was very bad and Santa needed someone to guide the sleigh that could light the way."
"And Rudolf's red nose came to the rescue?" Draco asked warily.
"Yes."
"Harry?"
"Mm-hmm?"
"Why wouldn't Santa simply install lights on the sleigh?"
"Well, that's not the point --"
"On the contrary, it seemed that everyone gave the glory to this one reindeer, when there was a perfectly logical alternative just waiting."
"Yes, well --"
"I'll never understand Muggles!"

Things don't always need to make sense for them to be right!
And now I'll have that song in my head all day long. (I love it!)
And then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say...

(But seriously, awwww... I never saw Rudolph as a song about accepting people who were different. To be honest, I just saw it as a song about, well, reindeers. *g*)
