Your Move

Here we go again, Draco thought. He reined in his anger, though it was simmering just below the surface. They're Harry's friends. He'd waited for Harry to do something, to say something ... and nothing happened. Draco took a deep breath.

"I would thank you not to insult me in my own home," Draco cautioned.

"You're only here because Harry likes your pretty arse," Ron taunted.

"Yeah, how long d'ya figure that'll last?" Seamus added with a cruel laugh. "Not long, I'd wager."

"Guys, back off," Harry warned.

"Aw, c'mon, Harry. It's just the ferret," Ron continued.

Harry rolled his eyes. "I think it's time for the two of you to get going." He led them towards the Floo, then thought better of it and guided them towards the front door instead. Who knew where they'd end up in their current condition.

"Sorry about that," Harry said to Draco after he'd shuffled a drunken Ron and Seamus out the door to stagger home. "You know how they get."

Draco glared at him. He was tired of all this. So very tired. And fed up.

"This has got to stop, Harry. It's time they accepted that we're together."

"What do you expect me to do? I can't make them like you."

"No, but you can demand they respect me in my own home. After all, this is our place, or so you keep telling me."

"Of course it is. You know that."

"Really? Because you don't act like it is."

"Draco …"

"I'm asking you to choose. Am I worth it to you? Are we worth it?"

As Draco reached for the Floo powder, Harry asked, "Where are you going?"

"I'll be spending the weekend - maybe longer - at the Manor."

"B-but …" Harry sputtered. "You can't leave it like that!"

"I believe I just did, Potter." Draco tossed the powder into the fire. "The rest is up to you." And he walked into the flames.

You are welcome.

Yup, yup. Harry's definitely being an arse.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, Harry's definitely in the wrong here. *nods*

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
*snickers* This is more your style, right? No, wait ... no one's dead yet. Not quite your style. :P

*hugs*

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
He deserves it.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Ron and Seamus are definitely asses, but Harry should have put them in their place. *nods*

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks, hon. Yup, Harry needs to step up.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
Awww. *hugs you*

Psst ... did you notice no angst warning? That should be a clue.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, yup. Harry is definitely wrong.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, yup. Draco was very mature about his handling of it, and perfectly within his rights to expect Harry to step up.

Thanks.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, Harry should have stepped up.

I'm sure Narcissa will squish him silly. *nods*

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, he's not very nice in this one.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Hee!

Yeah, yeah ... I'm already working on the sequel.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
Ouch! That hurt! :P

Sequel is in the works.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
Hee! I was thinking about the prompt when I left it like that. Muahahahahaha!!!

But, yeah ... a sequel is already underway.

draco had enough... he made the right decision!

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
*nods* Definitely.

[identity profile] bryoneybrynn.livejournal.com 2009-02-09 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
More meanness from you! But yeah, Harry needs to stand up. Right frakking now!

[identity profile] charmed310.livejournal.com 2009-02-10 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
OMG... you DID leave it like that.

[identity profile] thrnbrooke.livejournal.com 2009-02-14 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Stupid of both of them. I understand where Draco is coming from but they're both in the wrong.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-17 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. I was in a mean/angsty mood. I am actually writing another part, but it'll be a bit.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-17 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, indeedy! But I am planning for a continuation ... eventually. ;)

Got your other note ... we're doing very well. I started a p/t job with my old employer, and it's working out great. I'm a policy analyst, so I research and write all day (heh - sounds familiar) ... only I'm guaranteed a paycheque with that job.

Boys are well - one is in final year of high school, and trying to get into university, complete his community service & get a job; the other is in first year high school and is trying to find a way to only take the fun classes (gym, music, computers, art). Heh.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-02-17 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know. Draco is trying not to be insulting to Harry's friends by telling them off, which he would have had they not been Harry's friends. I'm not sure what else he could do.

I'm writing another part to this one ... it might be a little while, though. :)

Has a sequel been done for this? Would love to see Draco drag out Harry's angst a little while longer before twirling back home.

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
It hasn't been done yet, but it will be.

Finally, someone writes a Draco with some self=respect!
