Blaise had been watching the two figures across the room. He wasn't the only one. He noticed witches swooning at the sight, and wizards looking a little disgruntled as their dates pointed out the couple that seemed to communicate without even saying a word. Well, he was not going to stand by and do nothing.

"You two need to stop right now," Blaise announced as he approached Harry and Draco. The couple exchanged confused looks.

"What should we stop, Blaise?" Draco asked. "Being charming?"

"Overshadowing you as the life of the party?" Harry volunteered.

"Or just looking so unbelievably stunning together?"

Draco somehow kept a straight face when saying that one. Then again, Blaise pondered, he probably believes it.

"You know, Draco, everyone does say we look good together," Harry reasoned. "Something about fair and dark offsetting each other, I'm sure." He grinned conspiratorially at his boyfriend.

"That and we're the best looking wizards in Britain, of course."

"But of course," Harry agreed with a bow. "And don't forget witty. Oh, and humble."

"That!" Blaise interrupted their banter. "Stop ... just stop ... that," he said in an exasperated tone that made him sound like he had just run a marathon.

They both sniggered, then Harry offered, "Well, Blaise, if you could be a little more descriptive than 'that', we might see what we could do."

"A brilliant idea, Harry. Simply brilliant!" Draco flashed Harry a smile, winked at him, then turned back to Blaise. "Well?"

"You're too ... too ... cute! Stop being cute. What ever happened to the two of you fighting all the time, getting the better of each other, pissing each other off? I miss that."

"Blaise, dear," Draco placated his friend, "I assure you we are getting the better of each other." Harry snorted at that remark, while Blaise rolled his eyes. "We've just found a much better way to channel all that pent-up energy." He winked at his irritated friend, then leaned in to whisper in his ear. "I highly recommend it."

"Argh!" Blaise roared and thundered out of the room.

"What's eating him?"

"Ah, I'm afraid that's the problem, Harry. Nothing ... or should I say no one is."

Hee! I'll add it to the list of French that I know. It's a dwindling list, since I've forgotten most of what I did know. But I did try while we were in Paris in the summer.

I greeted the waiter and ordered in French at a restaurant. When he came back to the table, I (for some reason) spoke English when clarifying something for my son. I knew he spoke English, because he did with others at my table. He just smirked at me and shook his head until I resumed speaking French. Hee. (It was all in good fun, though, because he knew I could ... however badly). :D

Heh, clever waiter, he knew you were capable. The best you can do so that you not forget a language is to take advantage of every oportunity to practice. Like reading slash in french *smirks*

Heh. If it hadn't been so long since I had used/read French (or even German), that might be a brilliant idea ... but alas, I could barely understand a single word. If I had time to translate the words I didn't understand, it would be great fun, but for now I'll have to settle for English slash. :D

Thanks for the link, though ... I'll bookmark it.
