Harry awoke, again, to the feel of Draco thrashing beside him in the bed. He was mumbling incoherently and sweat was coming out of every pore. An occasional word could be deciphered in amongst the rest.

"Mother, no!" he screamed. Then, as he had done almost every night since they moved in together, Draco got up out of bed and began to sleepwalk.

Harry followed him, afraid Draco might hurt himself, knowing it was a new place, but he seemed to manage well enough. Harry's nightmares had finally stopped, but now Draco's had begun. Harry didn't know what to do.

Oh poor Draco! That's awful ... I feel so horrible for him. I hope that Harry is able to help him. It's good that Draco doesn't have to go through it alone. *nods*

Thanks for writing & sharing!

Harry will do his best. *nods*

Just being there will help ... but he wants to do so much more. *sighs*

Oh poor darlings! Just watch out for him! Try to get him to talk.

He'll do his best. (Next week's prompt is "comfort," so I'll be continuing this).

Poor Draco! Harry just needs to do what he's doing; make sure Draco doesn't hurt himself, and be there to hug him when he wakes up.

They'll find a way to make things better. Harry is nothing if not resolute!

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
Aww ... but he wants to make it all better. *squishes the boys*

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2008-01-30 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
They'll get through it together. *nods*

But that's how he can make it better for Draco; just by being there...

Oh, poor Draco...
All Harry can do is try to get him to talk.
*sniffles*

And I'm so glad you'll give us just a little more of this. I'm eager to see what happens.

:)

*sniff* Harry, just be there for him. Hold him when he needs it. Listen when he's ready to talk. *hugs both boys*

Harry has lots of experience with Voldemort-caused nightmares, so if anyone can help, he can.

Oh, definitely. But he wants to fix Draco, so he doesn't have the nightmares.

You know how, as a parent, you want to prevent your kids from experiencing pain, even though you know all you can do is help them be strong by being there when they do hurt.

Oh, poor Draco, and poor Harry! *is worried* Draco's lucky to have Harry following him around when he sleepwalks, or he may get seriously hurt. :(

[identity profile] sesheta-66.livejournal.com 2008-01-31 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
He seems to have adjusted to their new place without bumping into things, so that's good. But yeah, it's good that he has Harry there.

[identity profile] lackofmendacity.livejournal.com 2008-01-31 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, to be honest it's not so much the bumping into things I'm worried about. I used to sleepwalk, and I was able to open doors in my sleep. In fact, once I (apparently) opened the front door and ran into the front yard, but luckily my father saw and steered me back inside... so you see why I'm glad Draco has Harry there. :)

Right. Forgot about the functionality of sleepwalkers. Good point.
