I figure that Harry was closed-mouthed about a lot of things, and didn't confide in Ron when things weren't good with Ginny, because he's her brother. So Ron jumped to conclusions, having only heard one side of the story. So once he got the other side (even if it was from Draco), he was able to redeem himself.
