Alaana & I just left ... er ... I just poked my nose back in for a second. Enjoy!

BTW, how did you fair with the storm? All well in your neck of the woods?

Damn it! Hubby was having some computer time, and it made me miss the orgy!!! Ohh. Stupid only one computer in the apartment...

The storm was pretty bad, but we made out alright ~ although over 100 000 homes were w/o power. I was talking to a lady today who works for NS Power (they have their offices in the same place as my bookstore), and she says there's still some people without electricity. Since Saturday night!!!

Don't laugh too hard at this, but we have FIVE computers in our house, including my laptop. One is a boat anchor, and is only kept for the games (hasn't been plugged in for a year), and one has my WinFax on it, but otherwise is old & slow. *never throws anything away*

My friend just emailed me a link to pics showing some uprooted trees & other damage. Thankfully they escaped unscathed as well.

Five? That's brilliant. I think we're going to get a laptop sometime next year. At least we were planning on it, before I decided to diverge all extra money towards Terminus! *grins*

The one was a 'gimme' from work when it became obsolete (that'd be the boat anchor) ... the second was the first one I ever bought (1998), and lasted me until last year. The one I use now was the kids' computer which I scooped when I bought a gaming one for them earlier this year. And the laptop is necessary for writing wherever I go - I bought it about a year & a half ago.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. *nods*

I think we've had three or four over the past 8 years or so, but we just get rid of them when we get a new one! We don't really have a big place, so there's not room for another desktop here, anyway. But since I started spending so much time on the computer ~ b/c of H/D, of course! ~ we thought that a laptop would be a good idea so hubby could actually have internet access whenever he wants! Now there's Terminus, though. And my cousin's wedding. And hubby's family reunion. Hmph. Still may be able to do it, though...

Laptops are pretty cheap now, especially if you don't need one with a bunch of bells & whistles.

I think my desktop computer got upset with me and all my talk of laptos, b/c when I went to reply to this it shut me down!!! Let's try again.

Yes, laptops are pretty cheap. My hubby runs the technology department on the store level for a major retailer, so we also get a discount. BUT! B/c hubby knows all about it, he also wants all the bells and whistles! The computer I have now has just about everything you can think of on it! I love it so. *pets computer*

I think your PC might forgive you now. *g*
